This is a visual story that portrays the overall essence of how Maui catches, what is now known as New Zealand. Beginning with the mischievous Maui hiding in the waka as his brothers venture out to sea, only to reveal himself and challenge his brothers to see who can catch the biggest fish, a challenge between siblings that takes many days and nights. Eventually, ending in Maui's victory with him fishing up the North Island of New Zealand.
